Company:

Beckman Coulter

Product Name:

The Gallios Flow Cytometer

Catalog Number:

A94291

The Gallios Flow Cytometer is routinely used to analyze binding of Abs and aptamers to cells of interest. Our Gallios is a 10 color, 3 laser (488nm Blue, 638nm Red & 405nm Violet) cytometer which allows to use at least two types of dyes for Abs and live/dead staining without any considerable leakage between channels.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Flow cytometry

Starting Material

Cell cultures

Protocol Overview

ccl-119 cells were cultured in standard media and stained with sgc8 and a control aptamers for 30 min before the analysis. PI stain was used to differentiate live/dead cells

Tips

Live/dead stain is a must!

Results Summary

It was possible to see the difference in binding specificity between sgc8 (green) and the control aptamer (red).

Features Summary

Multi-channel detection

Summary

The Good

Sensitivity is good

The Bad

Constant problems with pressure lines

The Bottom Line

The instrument is a good tool. It takes a couple of hours to teach somebody how to perform basic analysis, so it's not that hard to operate. Kaluza software is intuitive but lacks a number of features such as different scaling for linear plots.
