Our lab works with cell lysates to study various proteins related to cancer. Many of these proteins are quickly degraded by phosphatases, and for this reason we use phosphatase inhibitors in our lysis buffer. We chose this specific phosphatase inhibitor cocktail because of its concentrated, high-quality inhibitors.

Protocol Overview

Dilute the stock 1:100 into lysis buffer just before use. We normally use between 50 and 100 uL per 10cm plate.

Tips

Issue with manufacturing can cause significant shipping delays.

Results Summary

For even our most easily-degraded proteins, phosphate groups remain during cell lysis. This allows accurate determination of phosphorylation states in the proteins in each cell lysate for further experiments.

This product is great, and I highly recommend it. There have been issues with the vendor in the past, including repeated shipping delays that totaled to over 4 months, but if you have the money and are willing to wait, the product is worth it.
