Product Name:

LKB1 (D60C5) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody

Catalog Number:

Our lab works with a number of kinases, including LKB1/STK11. We recently transfected LKB1 deficient cells with an expression vector for human LKB1, and I was able to prove the plasmid-driven LKB1 presence in cell lines extremely well using this antibody. We always prefer CST antibodies because of their extensive validation process and ease of customer service. This antibody is no exception.

Results Summary

With this antibody, I was able to successfully prove the reconstitution of human LKB1 protein in A549 cells as a result of transfection with an LKB1 expression vector. This antibody is extremely clean, and highly selective for the LKB1 protein. Very little background was observed at all, but the samples with reconstituted LKB1 were clearly denoted by bold bands on the autoradiography film. I did not need to use a mixture of ECL and FEMTO, but rather this antibody came up very well with ECL alone because it binds extremely well to the human LKB1 protein.

Summary

The Good

Highly selective with minor background

The Bad

Can be expensive, requires light, brief exposures

The Bottom Line

While expensive, this is a great antibody for human LKB1 detection. It is highly selective, binds strongly, and gives a reliable signal even after the membrane has been dried out and rehydrated. This is my go-to antibody to detect human LKB1 protein, and it will continue to be for the next few years as well. Highly recommended.
