We use streptavidin-coated beads to capture various biotinylated targets. The magnetic beads are collected using neodymium magnet stands for elution and analysis. This 16 microcentrifuge tube stand works well for our experiment scale but the cost is unreasonable.
Small (<1.5ml) microcentrifuge tubes do not work as well.
Works as expected
Overpriced
This lightweight rack works fine but I believe it's really overpriced. While I don't know the N-rating or pull force of this product, I suspect any decent neodymium magnet would accomplish the same thing.
