I used this EcoRV restriction enzyme along with BglII for the cloning of my gene of interest into a plasmid vector. Subsequently I used this enzyme for colony screening also. This enzyme completely digested my PCR products and vector which helped in getting my clones in the first attempt itself.
Restriction digestion and cloning
PCR product and plasmid DNA
I used 5U of enzyme for digesting 1 microgram of DNA at 37c for 2h. I used buffer 3.1 which was compatible for both BglII and EcoRV.
Suitable for overnight digestion also
