Soil contaminated with sewage is the major recipient of human wastes and reservoir of viral, bacterial, fungal, and protozoan pathogens. Hence, soil may have larger role in transmission of enteric diseases. Our study involved waste disposal practices that favor the entry of enteric pathogens to soil through sewage and the possible consequent role of the soil as a vector and reservoir of enteric pathogens. For this study we had validated several commercial total DNA, RNA isolation kits. We found DNA & RNA isolation kits of Mo Bio, Carlsbad, CA www.mobio.com.
