Phospho-Vimentin (Ser56) Antibody

Catalog Number:

Vimentin is a cytoskeletal protein that is increasingly gaining importance in the field of cancer research. It is important to know the post-translational status of vimentin because it provides us novel insights into its regulation at different compartments. Vimentin is known to be phosphorylated at various motifs; however there are very few antibodies available to detect them on Western blot. Here we test a Ser56 clone.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Western Blot

Sample

Mouse cell lines

Primary Incubation

1:100 BSA

Blocking Agent

5% BSA

Secondary Incubation

1:1000 HRP

Detection

FACScan

Results Summary

From the detection it can be seen that only higher oligomers are detectable although the samples are denatured. No bands at 54kDa are seen, which remains unexplainable.
