This antibody was used to detect astrocytic gliosis in paraffin brain sections from mice that develop spongiform degeneration of the CNS. GFAP is an astrocyte marker and, when there is gliosis, there is a much elevated GFAP signal.

1:2000 dilution, 1 hour at room temperature
1% goat serum in TBS
1:50,000 horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated goat anti-rabbit (Sigma), 1 hour room temperature

Excellent, strong, clean signal. Could probably dilute primary antibody further.
Heat-induced antigen retrieval was performed but not sure whether it was necessary
