Micromanipulators (Motorized) and Microcontrollers

Motorized Micromanipulators are used to manipulate micro sized objects or specimens under a microscope. A benefit to using motorized micromanipulators is the precision movement on a variety of axis that enables absolute manipulation far superior to traditional manual manipulation. Common actions included holding, cutting or injecting and are often controlled via joystick. Applications may include patch clamp experiments, intra-cellular and extra-cellular recording, microinjection of suspension cells, robotic positioning, ES cell transfer, nuclear transfer and microinjection into adherent cells. Features may include 4-axis of movement, semi- automatic injection, adjustable coarse or fine resolution, continuous or step-increment movements, automated Home function and storage and recall of user profiles. Although the expense of a motorized micromanipulator may be high, for a research or medical laboratory performing a large number of micromanipulation experiments, the precise and rapid benefits of a motorized micromanipulator may be worth the cost.
