Laboratory Rockers are necessary when a gentle, rocking motion is required for certain applications. Rockers are ideal for low foaming agitation, DNA extraction, washing blots and various staining procedures. Depending on the laboratory rocker chosen, a few different motions may be offered. A 3D gyrating motion and a wave, or seesaw rocking motion are the most common. The tilt or angle, as well as the speed (RPM) of the rocker may be fixed or adjustable depending on the model. Capacity varies between laboratory rockers; some vendors may offer double or even triple platforms for their rockers. A non-slip, autoclavable mat should be included for each platform. If using inside a cold room or incubator be sure to check operating temperatures.
