Fig 2: Quantification of the GPER1 expression. A total of 10 individual cells were chosen (n = 10) from images with merged channels of the receptor signal and the signal of the nuclear staining. After color channel splitting, the image thresholds were adjusted until the disappearance of the background signal, and the signal intensity was quantified with the same threshold in every picture. After the subtraction of the mean background signal, the mean fluorescence intensity was normalized by the number of nuclei. Data are given as mean values ± standard deviation (SD). Asterisks mark the significant differences between groups (p < 0.001: ***) determined by the One-way ANOVA test followed by Fisher’s LSD post hoc test.
