Enhancers are additive reagents used in certain applications to maximize a detection signal, minimize noise, or improve the efficiency of a process. In immunodetection methods such as ELISA, Western blot, or immunostaining, these can include membrane treatment reagents and primary antibody diluents that can increase the specificity of antibody binding and minimize background noise. Some enhancers increase antigen-antibody interactions to provide an overall increase in sensitivity of the assay. PCR-based enhancers are also available that can improve primer specificity or improve the activity of the polymerase. Visit the enhancer supplier page for more product information.
