Enhancers

Enhancers are additive reagents used in certain applications to maximize a detection signal, minimize noise, or improve the efficiency of a process. In immunodetection methods such as ELISA, Western blot, or immunostaining, these can include membrane treatment reagents and primary antibody diluents that can increase the specificity of antibody binding and minimize background noise. Some enhancers increase antigen-antibody interactions to provide an overall increase in sensitivity of the assay.
