Reverse transcriptases are RNA-dependent DNA polymerase enzymes that catalyze the synthesis of cDNA from an RNA template. Reverse transcriptases (RT) used in molecular biology are derived from viruses, such as MMLV (Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus) and Avian Myeloblastosis Virus (AMV) but are recombinantly expressed in E. coli. These enzymes are useful in applications downstream of reverse transcription, including cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, RNA sequencing, cloning, and producing cDNA libraries. Visit the supplier page for more product details, including enzyme activity information.
