PCR Master Mixes

PCR master mixes are premixed solutions that contain multiple components of a PCR reaction for fast and convenient PCR setup. Generally, a mastermix will contain the polymerase, each dNTP, working PCR buffer, MgCl2, and nuclease-free water at determined concentrations. A simple addition of the template and the appropriate primers completes the reaction. Mastermixes can not only simplify PCR sample prep, but also help eliminate error and contamination by reducing pipetting steps.
