The driving principle of qPCR is the fluorescent detection of cDNA amplification in real-time. The general components of a qPCR reaction accordingly include DNA polymerase, dNTPs, MgCl2, enhancers, stabilizers, intercalating dye, reference dye, primers, and the cDNA template. For RNA templates, one-step or two-step qPCR kits will include a reverse transcriptase (also known as RT-qPCR kits).
