Dihydroethidium

Dihydroethidium (also known as hydroethidine) is a fluorescent probe used in detecting intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). Normally blue, dihydroethidium reacts with ROS to produce a red fluorescent product distinguishable by fluorescence microscopy or via fluorometric detection assays. Dihydroethidium has affinity for DNA and accumulates in the nuclei.
