FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate) is a green fluorophore commonly used in applications such as immunolabeling, fluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry. The dye has an absorption wavelength that peaks around 495 nm, and an emission maximum around 518 nm. FITC is prone to photobleaching, and will benefit from using an antifade agent.
