Background: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of CXCL12/SDF-1 in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for human CXCL12/SDF-1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CXCL12/SDF-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away any unbound substances, a biotinconjugated detection antibody specific for human CXCL12/ SDF-1 is added to the wells. After incubating, an enzymelinked streptavidin is added and binds to biotin. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CXCL12/SDF-1 bound in the initial step.
