The Catalase Colorimetric Activity Kit from Arbor Assays quantifies catalase activity by measuring the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) into water and oxygen. This species-independent assay detects catalase activity in serum, plasma, RBCs, tissues, and cell lysates with a rapid 45-minute workflow. The remaining H₂O₂ reacts with HRP and a colorimetric substrate to produce a pink product measured at 560 nm, inversely proportional to catalase activity. With a sensitivity of 0.052 U/mL and detection range of 0.156–5.0 U/mL, this kit enables researchers to monitor antioxidant enzyme activity, redox regulation, and oxidative stress responses
