Description
Background/Introduction: Na+/K+ ATPase is widely distributed in plants, animals, microbes and cells, can catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP, ADP and inorganic phosphate. Na+/K+ ATPase activity in a membrane sample is measured from the hydrolysis of ATP, as determined by monitoring the production of radiolabeled inorganic phosphate from ATP. At the end of the reaction period, the released phosphate is separated from the nonreacted ATP by extraction of the phosphomolybdate complex into an organic solvent
