Wesley Huisman, Ph.D., is a senior postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leiden, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), and part of the Leiden University Center for Infectious Diseases (LUCID) group. Dr. Huisman’s primary research focus is studying the interplay of the immune system between the upper respiratory tract and periphery in the context of vaccines and viral infections.
Wesley performed his doctoral research at Sanquin Blood Bank, The Netherlands, in collaboration with the LUMC, investigating the potential benefits and risks of adoptively transferring virus-specific T cells to immunocompromised individuals.
