Description
Fibronectin is a high molecular weight, multi-domain glycoprotein that plays a key role in various cell-cell and cell-matrix processes, such as cell attachment, diffusion, growth, differentiation and migration. It exists on the cell surface and contributes to the ECM structure. This product includes three functional regions: cell binding domain, heparin binding domain and CS1 site. It consists of 574 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 63 kDa. It can greatly improve the infection efficiency of retroviral infection of mammalian cells. Its working principle is: VLA-4 and VLA-5 on the cell surface can bind to the CS-1 site and cell binding domain on this product respectively, and the retroviral vector can bind to the heparin binding domain. On the surface of the culture container coated with this product, cells and viral vectors coexist at high concentrations, thereby improving the efficiency of gene transfection.
