Anti-A-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the A-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ATP6V0A2 gene, which encodes ATPase H+ transporting V0 subunit a2. This protein is known to function in immune response pathways and autophagy pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of A-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 856 residues and a protein mass of 98.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. A-2 is a member of the V-ATPase 116 kDa subunit protein family.
