Anti-Thy 1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Thy 1 is a known alias name of the protein Thy-1 cell surface antigen, encoded by the THY1 gene in humans. This 161-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other events in the brain. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the skin, kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate. Other synonyms for Thy 1 include CD90, CD90, and CDw90. Flow Cytometry is a widely used application for the Thy 1 antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
