Anti-PGC1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PGC1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PPARGC1A gene, which encodes PPARG coactivator 1 alpha. This protein is known to function in adipose tissue development and brown fat cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of PGC1 has a canonical amino acid length of 798 residues and a protein mass of 91 kilodaltons, although 9 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells. Other names for this target antigen include LEM6, PGC-1(alpha), and PGC-1alpha. Some PGC1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
