UltraMAB®, the Ultra Specific Antibody
Antibody specificity is of utmost importance, especially in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Cross-reactivity with other protein targets can lead to inaccurate diagnosis or other off-target effects.
To address cross-reactivity, OriGene has created UltraMABs – Ultra-specific antibodies that undergo multiple validation steps, including testing for cross reactivity using our proprietary high-density protein microarray chip spotted with over 17,000 unique human antigens.
For an antibody to be ultra-specific, it must only bind to the intended antigen, while being non-reactive to the other antigens on the microarray.
The anti-Her2 UltraMAB antibody from OriGene (clone UMAB36) reacts only with Her2 protein with no cross-reactivity with other proteins unlike other antibodies (clone 4B5) which reacts with ZSCAN1B and ERBB4.
Validated ultra-specific antibodies are crucial for immunodetection in a true physiological environment.
OriGene’s proprietary mono-specific antibodies, UltraMABs are available for over 175 targets validated for multiple applications including IHC. In addition, OriGene is capable of large-scale production under GMP conditions, another OriGene advantage. Find out more by visiting Origene. Ask about the TrueSample program at origene.com.
