DNA and RNA require the addition of labels for nucleic acid detection applications such as in situ hybridization, FISH, microarrays, Northern or Southern blots, and molecular assays. To this end, a variety of tools are available, such as nucleic acid labeling kits and labeled nucleotides. Labeling kits contain sets of reagents necessary for conjugating DNA or RNA with labels via chemical or enzymatic labels. Such labels can include fluorophores, biotin, streptavidin, digoxigenin, or other affinity ligands. DNA end labeling kits attach modifications onto the 3' or 5' ends of DNA fragments using enzymes such as terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) and T4 polynucleotide kinase. Meanwhile, enzymatic RNA labeling kits take advantage of the activities of T4 RNA ligase or T7 polymerase to produce labeled RNA oligonucleotides. For more customized labeling, labeled nucleotides can be acquired separately. Discover a variety of labeling kits and reagents in this catalog from leading suppliers.
