Separators

Magnetic separators facilitate the purification of cells, nucleic acids, and proteins within a complex mixture, generally along with magnetic beads or particles. Magnetic separation is favored as it is biologically non-invasive, low cost, and reusable. Separators externally direct magnetic particles, allowing separation with minimal contact with samples. Laboratory applications of separators include isolation of specific cell types, preparation of nucleic acids to sequencing, and removal of magnetic contaminants.
