Tween 80

Tween® 80 also known as polysorbate 80, is a nonionic detergent commonly used in cell lysis for protein and nucleic acid extraction. It is also added to immunoassay buffers such as PBS or TBS. At room temperature, Tween® 80 appears as a clear, viscous amber-colored liquid. It has a molar mass of 1,310 g/mol and is soluble in water and alcohol.
