Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in metabolic processes. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 376 residues and a mass of 41.3 kDa. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in testis, small and large intestines, liver, kidney and pancreas. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. Other alias names for this target include Nox organizer 1, SH3 and PX domain-containing protein 5, nox-organizing protein 1, regulatory protein P41NOX, and NADPH oxidase regulatory protein.
