These MCH ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of MCH in biological samples. MCH is an alias name of the human PMCH gene, which encodes the protein, pro-melanin concentrating hormone. Notably, MCH is known to play a role in cell differentiation and chemical synaptic transmission, among other functions. The PMCH protein is described to be 165 amino acid residues in length and 18.7 kilodaltons in mass. It is known to be a secreted protein. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in the lateral hypothalamus, also detected in pallidum, neocortex and cerebellum. Other names for this target antigen include ppMCH.
