These alphaENaC ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of alphaENaC in biological samples. alphaENaC is an alias of the human SCNN1A gene, which encodes the protein, sodium channel epithelial 1 subunit alpha. The SCNN1A protein is 669 amino acid residues in length and 75.7 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 6 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cell membrane, cytoplasmic vesicles, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in the female reproductive tract, from the fimbrial end of the fallopian tube to the endometrium. This protein is known to be N-glycosylated, ubiquitinated and cleaved. Other names for this target antigen include BESC2, ENaCa, and ENaCalpha.
