These Thrombospondin 5 ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring specific protein levels in biological samples. Thrombospondin 5 is an alias of the human COMP gene, which encodes the protein, cartilage oligomeric matrix protein. Notably, Thrombospondin 5 is known to play a role in organ morphogenesis and the apoptotic pathway, among other functions. The COMP protein is 757 amino acid residues in length and 82.9 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is secreted. In terms of tissue specificity, it is found to be highly expressed in the chondrocyte extracellular matrix, and is also found in bone, tendon, ligament and synovium and blood vessels. This protein is known to be glycosylated. Other names for this target antigen include CTS2, EDM1, and EPD1.
The detection range for different Thrombospondin 5 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 0.085 ng/mL and as high as 20 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
