The Wolframin ELISA kits listed below are analytical tools for measuring concentrations of Wolframin in various samples. Wolframin is an alternative name for the human WFS1 gene, which encodes the protein, wolframin ER transmembrane glycoprotein. It has been mentioned that Wolframin plays a role in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and kidney development, among other functions. Structurally, the WFS1 protein is described to be 890 amino acid residues in length and 100.3 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and ER of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in heart followed by brain, placenta, lung and pancreas. This protein is known to be glycosylated. Other names for this target antigen include CTRCT41, WFRS, and WFS.
There are Wolframin ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 10 ng/L and as high as 2000 ng/L. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
