The following Neurocan ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of neurocan in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the NCAN gene. This protein is believed to modulate neuronal adhesion and neurite growth during development by binding to neural cell adhesion molecules (NG-CAM and N-CAM). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 1321 residues, a mass of 143.1 kDa, and is a member of the Aggrecan/versican proteoglycan protein family. It has been described to be a secreted protein. In addition, it is notably expressed in cerebrospinal fluid. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally O-glycosylated. This protein may also be known as neurocan core protein, chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 3 (neurocan), neurocan proteoglycan, and CSPG3.
There are neurocan ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 31.2 pg/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Use the search filters to narrow your search and click on the ELISA kits below for more detailed information, such as reactivity and assay sensitivity.
