ELOVL4 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein ELOVL fatty acid elongase 4, which is encoded by the ELOVL4 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the first and rate-limiting reaction of the four reactions that constitute the long-chain fatty acids elongation cycle. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 314 residues, a mass of 36.8 kDa, and is a member of the ELO protein family. It is known to be localized in the ER and is reported to be expressed in the retina and at much lower level in the brain. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated. The ELOVL4 gene has been associated with the disease, Stargardt disease. Other alias names for this target include CT118, ISQMR, SCA34, STGD2, STGD3, and ADMD.
The detection range for different ELOVL4 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 0.15 ng/mL and as high as 10 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
