OBP2A ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein odorant binding protein 2A, which is encoded by the OBP2A gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to bind and transports small hydrophobic volatile molecules with a higher affinity for aldehydes and large fatty acids, including undecanal, palmitic acid, efficient aldehydes, benzenic aldehydes, heterocyclic aldehydes and aliphatic acids. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 170 residues, a mass of 19.3 kDa, and is a member of the Lipocalin protein family. It is known to be secreted and is reported to be highly expressed in the nasal structures, salivary and lachrymal glands, and lung. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. Other alias names for this target include OBP, OBP2C, OBPIIa, hOBPIIa, odorant-binding protein IIa, putative odorant-binding protein 2c, and LCN13.
The detection range for different OBP2A ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 0.62 ng/mL and as high as 50 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
