The protein is a reported regulator of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling. The ZFYVE28 protein is 887 amino acid residues in length and 96.5 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 8 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. This protein is known to be ubiquitinated. Other names for this target antigen include lateral signaling target protein 2 homolog, hLst2, and lateral signaling target-2 homolog.
