DAP10 is an alias of the human HCST gene, which encodes the protein, hematopoietic cell signal transducer. Notably, DAP10 is known to play a role in protein phosphorylation, among other functions. The HCST protein is 93 amino acid residues in length and 9.5 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in the hemopoietic cells such as NK cells, subset of T-cells and monocytes.
