The following glycine N-methyltransferase ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of glycine N-methyltransferase in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the GNMT gene. This protein is known to catalyze the methylation of glycine by using S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) to form N-methylglycine (sarcosine) with the concomitant production of S-adenosylhomocysteine (AdoHcy), a reaction regulated by the binding of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 295 residues, a mass of 32.7 kDa, and is a member of the Glycine N-methyltransferase protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the cytoplasm. In addition, it is found to be preferentially expressed in liver, pancreas, and prostate. The gene encoding this protein has been associated with the disease, Glycine N-methyltransferase deficiency. This protein may also be known as HEL-S-182mP and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 182mP.
Some glycine N-methyltransferase ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.312 ng/mL and as high as 500 ng/mL. Use the search filters to narrow your search and click on the ELISA kits below for more detailed information, such as reactivity and assay sensitivity.
