In addition, it is reported to be expressed in most tissues with highest levels in the pancreas, followed by placenta, kidney and lung. As many as 5 protein isoforms have been reported. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally ubiquitinated and phosphorylated. This protein may also be known as serine/threonine-protein kinase Sgk1, serine/threonine protein kinase SGK, and SGK.
