Its subcellular location is known to be in the nucleus and cytoplasm. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. This protein may also be known as 2,3-diketo-5-methylthio-1-phosphopentane phosphatase, acireductone synthase, and enolase-phosphatase E1.
