Functionally, this protein is a regulatory subunit of S-adenosylmethionine synthetase 2, an enzyme that catalyzes the formation of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 334 residues, a mass of 37.6 kDa, and is a member of the DTDP-4-dehydrorhamnose reductase protein family. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. As many as 5 protein isoforms have been reported.
