The following Aquaporin 8 ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of aquaporin 8 in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the AQP8 gene. This protein is a reported channel that allows the facilitated permeation of water and uncharged molecules, such as hydrogen peroxide and the neutral form of ammonia (NH3), through cellular membranes such as plasma membrane, inner mitochondrial membrane and endoplasmic reticulum membrane of several tissues. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 261 residues, a mass of 27.4 kDa, and is a member of the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the mitochondria, ER, and cell membrane. In addition, it is notably expressed in the sperm midpiece. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally N-glycosylated.
Some aquaporin 8 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.312 ng/mL and as high as 20 ng/mL. Use the search filters to narrow your search and click on the ELISA kits below for more detailed information, such as reactivity and assay sensitivity.
