GMPPA ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase A, which is encoded by the GMPPA gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is believed to serve as a regulatory subunit and allow allosteric feedback inhibition of GMPPB by GDP-mannose. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 420 residues, a mass of 46.3 kDa, and is a member of the Transferase hexapeptide repeat protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in fibroblasts. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The GMPPA gene has been associated with the disease, Alacrima, achalasia, and impaired intellectual development syndrome. Other alias names for this target include mannose-1-phosphate guanyltransferase alpha, GMPP-alpha, GTP-mannose-1-phosphate guanylyltransferase alpha, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, and AAMR.
