FOS ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein Fos proto-oncogene, AP-1 transcription factor subunit, which is encoded by the FOS gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a nuclear phosphoprotein, which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 380 residues, a mass of 40.7 kDa, and is a member of the BZIP protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally sumoylated and phosphorylated. Other alias names for this target include C-FOS, p55, protein c-Fos, FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral (v-fos) oncogene homolog (oncogene FOS), and AP-1.
