ZP3 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein zona pellucida glycoprotein 3, which is encoded by the ZP3 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known component of the zona pellucida, an extracellular matrix surrounding oocytes which mediates sperm binding, induction of the acrosome reaction and prevents post-fertilization polyspermy. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 424 residues, a mass of 47 kDa, and is a member of the ZP domain protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is notably expressed in oocytes. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally O-glycosylated, N-glycosylated and cleaved. The ZP3 gene has been associated with the disease, Oocyte maturation defect. Other alias names for this target include OZEMA3, ZP3A, ZP3B, ZPC, zona pellucida sperm-binding protein 3, ZP3A/ZP3B, sperm receptor, and OOMD3.
Some ZP3 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 20 ng/L and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
