LRIT3 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein leucine rich repeat, Ig-like and transmembrane domains 3, which is encoded by the LRIT3 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to play a role in in the synapse formation and synaptic transmission between cone photoreceptor cells and retinal bipolar cells (By similarity). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 679 residues and a mass of 74.8 kDa. It is known to be localized in the cell projections and ER and is notably expressed in the outer plexiform layer (OPL) of the retina where it localizes to ON-bipolar cells. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. The LRIT3 gene has been associated with the disease, Night blindness. Other alias names for this target include fibronectin type III, immunoglobulin and leucine rich repeat domains 4, leucine-rich repeat, immunoglobulin-like and transmembrane domains 3, and leucine-rich repeat, immunoglobulin-like domain and transmembrane domain-containing protein 3.
