BABAM2 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein BRISC and BRCA1 A complex member 2, which is encoded by the BABAM2 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known component of the BRCA1-A complex, a complex that specifically recognizes 'Lys-63'-linked ubiquitinated histones H2A and H2AX at DNA lesions sites, leading to target the BRCA1-BARD1 heterodimer to sites of DNA damage at double-strand breaks (DSBs). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 383 residues, a mass of 43.6 kDa, and is a member of the BABAM2 protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in all cell lines examined. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. Other alias names for this target include BRCC45, BRE, BRCA1-A complex subunit BRE, BRCA1/BRCA2-containing complex subunit 45, and BRCC4.
